Amani National Congress Party (ANC) says it will not field aspirants in cosmopolitan areas and regions which will need the unity of Nasa to win in August polls.

Addressing members of the press in Busia County, ANC secretary general Godfrey Osotsi however insisted that it will field candidates in all elective posts in Nasa strongholds.

“ANC will be fielding candidates in all elective positions except in areas which we consider to be cosmopolitan areas and areas that we consider will need the unity of Nasa coalition to win,” Osostsi said.

“But in all other Nasa strongholds, Busia included we are going to present our candidates,” he added.

Ososti was speaking after ANC met aspirants, Friday.

Amani national Congress headed by Musalia Mudavadi signed a pact with ODM party lead by Raila Odinga, Wiper party, headed by Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula to form the Nasa coalition.

The coalition is however yet to choose a presidential candidate who will battle it out with president Uhuru Kenyatta.
