Amani National Congress (ANC) party officials in Uasin Gishu County have expressed their opposition to a recent verdict by the Political Parties Disputes tribunal to reinstate nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi as the party’s Secretary General.
The officials led by County branch Secretary General Saina Nechu, Moiben sub-county chairlady Antonina Makoba and Kennedy Masika, a senior member, said Osotsi no longer represents the interests of the party.
Addressing the press in Eldoret town on Saturday, the ANC officials described Osotsi as a rebel who should not be allowed to serve any senior position in the party.
They as well vowed to ensure his nomination as an MP is revoked.
“We cannot allow someone serving other parties interests to be at the helm of our party. In fact, we are pushing him to be removed as the nominated MP because he no longer represents our party’s interests at the Parliament as expected of him,” said Nechu.
While giving its ruling, the tribunal that sat at a Milimani law court in Nairobi noted that Osotsi’s resignation as ANC Secretary-General was coerced hence termed appointment of Barack Muluka as null and void as it did not follow the set down procedures.
Muluka had been appointed by party leader Musalia Mudavadi to replace Osotsi.
The ANC Uasin Gishu officials further issued a chilling warning to Vihiga Senator George Khaniri and his Kakamega counterpart Cleophas Malala for their frequent attacks on the party leader and going against party’s’ position on national issues.
