News that the Supreme Court has upheld the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta has been received differently by Kenyans.

Chief Justice David Maraga on Monday, November 20, dismissed the petitions against Uhuru's reelection saying they could not deliver the full judgement as the petitions were retired with two days to the deadline.

“After the hearing the petitions we retired with only two days left to the deadline and it was impossible to write a full judgement. What we read today is a summary verdict on the issues raised in the petitions,” CJ Maraga said.

Kenyans have taken to social media castigating and praising the ruling in equal measure.

"Another 5 minutes fullscarp ruling. Crap," said NASA supporter Faraj Faluma.

"I needed peace today... and finally Uhuru legally beats Kenyatta.. for the first time. Nobody claims of irregularities in IEBC, no stolen votes," said a twitter user Betty Saint.

"He looked a worried man. You can't take two days to prepare a ruling to be read in three minutes. And the three minutes include time taken to paraphrase the legal questions. Money has changed hands," said Mohammed Okola.

"The revolution has just began;no retreat,no surrender!!uhuruto can now lead the other smaller group of minority as NASA form the basic policy of governance People's Republic of Kenya #Resist Uhuruto!!" Javan Victor1 wrote.

"If you are an objective Kenyan ask why the IG is not barring Jubilee people from disrupting business in towns! Are we all Kenyans" asked Wafula Khayota.

"I am appealing Snr Counsel Hon Orengo to make preparation for the people's president to be sworn in as President of People's Republic of Kenya," wrote Abdulaziz Ogle.

"Thank you CJ Maraga for upholding the election of the Jubilee party presidential nominee Uhuru Kenyatta. We as NRM already have our Presidential nominee by consensus. If they swear in their nominee, we will also swear in ours," Moindi Ndege said.
