The Arch Bishop of the Anglican Church Dr Jackson Ole Sapit says plans are underway to digitize Anglican churches countrywide in a move aimed at leveraging on the fast-growing technology to reach out to the increasingly technology savvy society.
Dr Sapit said the clergy serving in the country`s second-largest faith will be adequately inducted on effective use of data and internet communication devices beginning next year.
This, he said, will enable church ministers to remain relevant to the spiritual needs of their congregation in the digital age.
“The initiative will enable the archdiocese efficiently equip its over 30,000 churches with necessary Information Communication Technology (ICT) devices after training clergy earmarked for the program on the new pathway to the new model of service delivery to our flock,” said Sapit.
He was speaking at the Nakuru ACK Diocese on Thursday where he graced a ceremony to confer a doctorate degree in Divinity to the Nakuru ACK Diocese Bishop Joseph Muchai by the University of All Nations Christian International in the United States of America.
The Arch Bishop told reporters that the need for the church to leap into technology is necessitated by the dynamic communication trends of society.
