Kisii County governor James Ongwae has been accused for ignoring the church in his administration.
According to Kisii Anglican Church Bishop John Omangi, governor Ongwae has not involved the church in his leadership.
"Ongwae has ignored the church in his government. We are urging him to involve the church because church leaders have the potential to fight corruption in the county and spread peace across the county through preaching," said Omangi.
He regretted that politicians forget God whenever they ascend to power.
"Our leaders seek religious leaders when seeking elective posts but once they get to power, they ignore the same church that was their home in time of need. It is time for the leaders to allow God guide them throughout their leadership," he added.
The Bishop urged Kisii residents to be on high alert to kick out leaders who may be out to misuse public resources.
"Electorates should not sleep and allow elected leaders to embezzle funds. Residents should be vigilant to protects public resources from being misused by cartels in the devolved unit," added Omangi.
He said the county should distribute employment vacancies equally for regional balance.
