The residents retaliated and during the manhunt, they found assorted valuables and electronics believed to have been stolen from their neighbours and people from other regions,” said the assistant chief.Siaya County Police Commandant Sarah Duncan confirmed the incident saying the bodies of the deceased were taken to Siaya County Referral Hospital. While condemning the incident, Ms Duncan said it is illegal for members of the public to take the law into their hands, adding that they should have handed over the suspect to the authorities to avoid innocent people falling victim.“We call upon the residents to report crime to the police. If suspects are captured, they should be handed over to police for the proper course of action,” said the commandant.
