A visibly agitated ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi on Sunday demanded immediate resignation of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over escalating corruption scandals.

The government is embroiled is massive corruption scandals with NYS department said to have lost Sh9 billion few months after another Sh700 million scandal.

In a statement, Mudavadi: “What is happening is no longer the usual corruption that is endemic in government but planned looting by highly protected people.”

"Emboldened by government preventive agencies, laxity to confront corruption targeting taxpayers’ money. The regime has lost and it is time to resign,” he said.

On Tuesday, over 20 suspects were arraigned in court as president Uhuru Kenyatta issued a stern warning to corrupt individuals.

Apparently, sources say, dozens of the individual implicated in the scandals tried to reach on phone for help during Monday’s crackdown.
