After a lorry was caught fetching dirty river water to be supplied to Nairobians, residents on the county are not happy.
Taking to social media to air their frustrations, Nairobians castigated the authorities and said they had left cartels to control matters of water and that this was the reason their lives were now being endangered.
"I am a labtech, of late I've realised that most typhoid tests turn positive. I've been asking myself several questions why. I got the answer after seeing this. But why? Harsh actions should be taken Mr governor," said Awuor Alwala.
"Just supply Nairobi with sufficient water that’s all. We have esteemed Engineers and planners in NWSCS but nothing. It’s like everything is usually a surprise, from Nairobi’s growing population, to water towers feeding the dam(s) that supply Nairobi, etc. To what end?" said Shiko Muturi.
"Kahawa west Maji ya wakenya wote inalima greenhouses na mashamba of a few rich people. Na vijana are also redirecting supply lines ndio watuuzie. Cartels even at this level...watatumaliza unless you send for immediate action to be taken," said Sheila Kimani.
"Such people are worse than murderers, they should be sentenced to hang, even if it's business, where's humanity, they think God's hand will not catch up with them.Time will tell, they bring curse on themselves and their families," said Kennedy Njoroge.
Jennifer Maina said: "I don't see anything wrong with that business venture with the lorry, why are u not worried that other people are fetching the same water with jerrycan which might be consumed without being treated?"
