[Photo/Courtesy]NASA leader Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi alongside other opposition leaders joined families, friends and mourners to send off victims of the tragic Kamukuywa - Kitale road accident early this month.The funeral service of the 16 victims was conducted in Mahanga Village of Mungoma Ward, Vihiga County, led by host Governor Wilberforce Otichilo.Also present were MPs Alfred Keter, Beatrice Adagala, Ernest kagesi and Dr. Patrick Saisi area Deputy Governor among others. "We pray for them for strength in this hard times. Stay safe this festive season and observe road rules," said Otichillo.Speaking during the funeral, Odinga slammed the authorities tasked with ensuring road safety, saying a lot should be done to save lives on Kenyan roads.

He unleashed his anger on Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and his Transport and Infrastructure counterpart James Macharia, saying they were doing nothing to avoid cases of road accidents."This December alone we have lost over 100 lives yet Matiang'i and Macharia are just seated there doing nothing. Something must be done," Odinga said.Otichillo pledged that his government would establish a hospital in the area to honour the deceased.
