In the past, the party has often been accused of favouring a few individuals during nominatiosn leading to mass exodus of its members.

Through chairman John Mbadi, Raila is said to be unhappy with cartels operating from within the party.

"We are all unhappy with flaws witnessed in some of our past nominations and we are not going to allow this happen again," said Mbadi on Monday, adding that Raila is keen to crack the whip.

He added: "The party is dealing with past nomination messes. We will deal with cartels effectively if they are found."

In April, Raila launched a task-force which has since tabled a report on how the party performed countrywide in 2017 polls.

Unlike in 2007 and 2013 when the party controlled parliament, it however lost to Jubilee party in 2017 polls, which partly explains why Raila is firing at Orange House cartels.
