Agitated residents of Nyanchwa area in Kisii County on Wednesday burnt down a house belonging to a 40-year-old man who had been arraigned in court for rape allegations.

According to some of the villagers the man is said to have angered the villagers for boasting about his release and they decided to take the law into their hands.
“Most of the locals were no happy when they heard the news about the release of the man after he managed to raise a bond of sh100,000as well as the way the man was boasting after rescuing his release”said Isaac Ochanda one of the resident
Confirming the incident, area Chief Ezra Momanyi said that the villagers stormed the home of the man after they were informed that he had been released and burnt down one of his houses.
“Its unfortunate that locals don't understand the meaning of a bond and that is why they burnt down his houses and the police have already come to ensure they arrest those involved’ said Momanyi
