Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has yet again picked war with President Uhuru Kenyatta albeit indirectly as the battle for supremacy intensifies at City Hall.

Last week, Sonko picked Miguna Miguna as his deputy, months after parting ways with Polycarp Igathe, who has since joined Equity Bank.

And on Sunday, Sonko dismissed Uhuru's Jubilee party, insisting that the law does not tie him on who to pick as his deputy.

"There is nothing that Miguna Miguna is not a Jubilee member. Even though I did not consult him, he remains my choice and I cannot kneel down before anyone.

"I want them (State House operatives) to show me the law which limits me to nominating a Jubilee member. I won't be intimidated by anyone," he fired back.

President Uhuru's right hand man David Murathe warned that Jubilee will not hesitate to impeach Sonko if he does not choose a party member.

Last week, Sonko snubbed Uhuru at interdenominational rally in Nakuru in a video that was widely circulated online.

Although he has often skipped dragging Uhuru into his woes, Sonko has often accused Office of the President of allegedly meddling in his affairs.

Before that, Uhuru had questioned the state of the capital's cleanliness, a move that has seen him deploying KDF to assume roles of county government of Nairobi.
