Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has this evening spoken on why he decided to nominate firebrand politician Miguna Miguna as his deputy.
In a phone call to a local TV station, Sonko said he had settled on Miguna to help him fight cartels.
"I will not back down on this nomination, I chose Miguna because I know he is anti-cartel number one. City Hall has been run by cartels," Sonko said.
The Nairobi county boss, who sounded angry on the call, said that he will not be told how to run Nairobi.
"I will be kneel before any human being, I cannot only kneel before God," Sonko said in regard to consulting his party bosses on the move.
Sonko said the nomination is not in any way meant to rub the Jubilee party the wrong way.
"I have no issues with the president, I have issues with only one man and you know that man," Sonko said angrily.
