Outspoken Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Saturday picked war with the national government again after he was reportedly snubbed by Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko.
The governor was attending tree planting session at Moi Forces Academy, a function which was also attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Despite his presence, Tobiko invited the DP to read his speech, a move which agitated Sonko, making him to protest loudly.
"The president has not disbanded the county government of Nairobi. Stop this habit of disrespecting county government," said Sonko, as he took microphone from the DP.
He added: "The State House programme is very clear I am supposed to speak after the anthem then invite the minister who in return should welcome the DP."
Instead, Tobiko breached the protocol by inviting the DP, thus causing the confusion which agitated the Jubilee governor.
Since parting ways with his deputy Polycarp Igathe, Sonko has reportedly been facing rebellion from a section of leaders close to the country's top leadership.
On Friday, Sonko traded barbs with President Uhuru Kenyatta's lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi, slightly a month after clashing with Interior PS Karanja Kibicho.
