In now what seems to be endless blame game on his alleged mismanagement, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has yet again shifted blame to a 'cartel' of legal officers who at time worked with his predecessor Evans Kidero.
For months now, Sonko has been under pressure with a section of Nairobi residents blaming his administration for mediocre services.
During an exclusive interview with Citizen TV on Sunday, a day after he had openly bashed unnamed critics within Office of the President, Sonko yet again linked lawyers Ben Momanyi and Ahmednassir Abdillahi for some of the problems City Hall is undergoing.
"I do not want to blame my predecessor in everything but some of the challenges I am facing are his own creation.
"We have a cartel of lawyers demanding billions from the county even after having gotten away with millions meant for service delivery. They are making things impossible," he said without mentioning their names.
Just last week, Sonko accused reputable lawyer Ahmednassir of allegedly sabotaging service delivery in City Hall over tender issues.
Last month, Sonko sued Borabu MP Ben Momanyi for allegedly conspiring with suppliers to defraud the county Sh6.2 million.
Before that, Sonko had also filed a suit in court demanding that Momanyi returns close to Sh58 million which was part of Sh60 million which he had been given for representing the county in a legal suit.
