Kenyans on social media have bashed Uhuru on his attitude towards fight against graft with a section of leaders insisting that corruption will taint his legacy.

And through Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, Uhuru said he is closely monitoring the investigations and that he will act according to the law.

"This is a follow up on conversation we had about lost of public funds at NYS, NCPB and Kenya power. The President is keen on speedy investigations and swift legal actions against culprits," Kinyua noted in a letter.

He added: "I cannot emphaize enough on need for thorough investigations in these cases. Investigate anyone involved regardless of the rank."

In the letter secret letter to DCI written in April, Uhuru also directs the investigative agency to work together with DPP on prosecution of the corruption cases.

This comes even as Kenyans on social media urged opposition leader Raila Odinga to keep quiet on the matter, despite his tendencies of bashing the government.

The NCPB scandal in which estimated Sh740 million was paid to unscrupulous businessmen has created rift in the Rift Valley with senior politicians implicated in the saga.
