Over the weekend, the MPs led by Nandi senator, questioned the ongoing probe at NCPB, KPLC and Kenya Pipeline  arguing that it is a scheme to taint Ruto's name ahead of 2022.

"The investigations are following a certain trend and they are targeting individuals close to Ruto. we shall fight back if this witch-hunt can't stop," he said.

Apparently, two of the parastatals are falls under Energy ministry which is headed by Ruto's confidant Charles Keter.

But a furious President Uhuru Kenyatta could not take any of the argument on Thursday insisting that the fight against graft was unstoppable.

"Nobody is targeted on this war. It is something that must end. Corruption does not know a tribe or race," he said.

"When I was away, I heard some people saying that I am targeting someone. When you steal, you do it alone and you will be jailed alone," he added.

While Ruto has not openly spoken about it, his confidants insists that the crackdown aims at tainting his reputation.

So far, at least 20 people are in various remand centers awaiting determination on their corruption cases.
