This comes hours after a local daily claimed that a host of Sh9 billion NYS suspects had made frantic calls to have the president intervene.

At Jacaranda grounds on Wednesday, Uhuru asked suspects to 'carry their own cross and stop bothering him'.

"When you steal, just carry your own cross. Stop disturbing me because I did not share it with you," said Uhuru.

He added: "We can not sit and watch people stealing public resources. They must face the law and it is time this thuggery culture stops."

On Tuesday, DPP arraigned in court at least 20 suspects among them Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo and NYS Director Richard Ndubai.

Also, investigations are ongoing over alleged loss of Sh2 billion from NCPB in which Agriculture Minister Mwangi Kiunjuri was due to appear in parliament on Wednesday for probe.
