Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i could after all face a sack over Sh3.2 billion Ruaraka land saga, it has now emerged.
Angry President Uhuru Kenyatta reportedly summoned Matiang'i last week along with DCI George Kinoti and warned them against interference with ongoing investigations.
"The president was categorical that there is no sacred cow in the Sh3.2 billion land saga. He told Matiang'i to face it should he be found culpable.
"He said should evidence be found, the minister should just resign with waiting for his ruthlessness. He also threatened to take administrative actions against the DCI," said a source.
It is believed that Matiang'i conspired with DCI to have PS Belio Kipsang take responsibility for payments whose process was initiated by Mohammed Swazuri and him.
Insiders says the president is unhappy with cover ups which the minister is reportedly using to shift blame.
The land saga is said to have transpired when the untouchable minister was in the education docket but it could land him in trouble.
In the secret meeting, the president is said to have asked the DCI to ensure all culprits are brought to book a move that could have Matiang'i being among the casualties.
