On Wednesday, Anjere said that all aspirants have been invited to the meeting to discuss security issues and how they will conduct their campaigns.

This follows a fracas on Sunday at Thika stadium during the album launch for local gospel musician Muigai Wa Njoroge where two people are allegedly said to have been killed by police stray bullets.

The DCC said that the Monday meeting is a must for current serving politicians and all those seeking elective seats in the area.

“We have invited candidates seeking elective seats in next year's elections within Thika Sub County to discuss security issues,” he said on Wednesday.

Anjere further said that organisers of the Sunday meeting at Thika stadium that turned rowdy have been summoned to shed light on what transpired.

The album launch meeting was attended by several politicians among the Governor William Kabogo and his Murang’a counterpart Mwangi Wa Iria.

“We have summoned the organisers of the Sunday event to tell us what transpired as investigations into the chaos that erupted continue,” he said.

Anjere said that security officials will not tolerate politicians who perpetuate violence.

He said police are on alert and will not hesitate to arrest selfish Politicians and individuals who hire youths to disrupt peace.

On Sunday two people are said to have been killed by police by stray police bullets during the Muigai Wa Njoroge album launch at Thika stadium.

It is claimed that a gang of violence youth started robbing and mugging locals who had attended the event prompting police to use tear gas to disperse the rowdy youths.

It is further claimed two people were killed by stray bullets during the melee.

Police have however refuted the claims saying that the two might have been killed by rowdy youths who were on the rampage.

Investigations into the incident have been launched as relatives of the deceased given police 24 hours to investigate and arrest officers who allegedly fired live bullets during the Sunday fracas.
