Celebrated Journalist Larry Madowo could be the latest high-profile name to quit Nation Media Group if the latest developments at Twin Towers are anything to go by.
The award-winning news anchor has endured turbulent times at the region's biggest media house, and on Wednesday, he gave the clearest indication yet that he could be on the move.
Before Wednesday, Madowo's Twitter handle profile had indicated that he is NTV News Anchor, Technology Editor, among others. But now, he is just purely a Journalist. This has left his fans guessing on his next move.
He later went on to pen a poem by Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities, something that has further heightened the speculation that The Trend man could be headed to the exit door.
Madowo's troubles within the media house started on January 30, the day NASA leader Raila Odinga was sworn in as the people's president.
It's said that he was among those who were keen to give the event live courage, but the government responded by switching off all leading TV stations that were planning to air live the event.
Two days later, alongside fellow anchor Ken Mijungu and NTV Manager Linus Kaikai, they were reportedly being trailed by the police for arrest.
They were forced to spend the night in the newsroom. They later went to court where they were given anticipatory bail.
The same week, he posted on his Twitter handle that the Daily Nation had rejected publishing his #FrontRow column which is now being published by New York Times and CNN.
As to what future holds for Larry Madowo at Twin Towers remains to be seen.
