This comes a week after the deputy director National Disaster Management Pius Maasai, the county government and county commissioner had called of the rescued operation claiming there were no more bodies entrapped in the boulders.

The recovery of Leah Kwamboka’s body, (40) from the debris at Mwembe estate left the residents wondering as to why the operation could be   concluded before those in the ill-fated structure were accounted for.

The family of the diseased had launched a complaint that one of their member was missing.

A search in local hospitals and mortuaries did not yield any result until a snap excavation had to be conducted by the county government disaster management personnel led by the director Julius Tinega.

The body was removed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital as the deceased’s brother Nahason Mageto petitioned the county government to assist the five children left behind by the late Kwamboka.
