Garissa gubernatorial aspirant Ali Korane on Saturday recorded yet another massive boost as the Ajuran community pledged to rally behind him in his 2017 bid, saying it was time that the voices got heard in the county's political arena.
With them, he discussed a wide range of issues affecting the community and the larger Garissa county people under the current leadership.
"The community supported the effort to bring meaningful change to our county and agreed to invite me for further consultation on how to better our county," he said.
The new progress emerged after the community invited him for their event which was held at Hidig Palace hotel, Garissa. The Ajuran people now become the second to offer support for Korane after the Marehan community.
It is now clear that the incumbent Nathif Jama will have a tough contest to defend the seat, given the fact that the two Garissa politicians enjoy almost similar following from the electorate.
In 2013 general elections, Korane came second after Nathif Jama, who was crowned the duly elected governor by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
