Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga received a host of influential opinion leaders from Baringo and West Pokot counties, including Women Representative Regina Nyeris.
The leaders made the conscious decision to defect to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the larger Nasa family, ''where they feel their aspirations for the region and the country at large can be best realised''.
"Tired of four years of false promises and development that cannot be seen, the leaders have endorsed the Nasa Team to lead Kenya to prosperity. We welcome their input and look forward to working together to deliver real change to Kenyans," said the ODM party leader, as he welcomed them at Orange House, Nairobi, Tuesday.
Other defectors included Sigor MP Philip Rotino, Jubilee Party's Baringo county Secretary Jackson Cherop, Maendeleo Chap Chap Party's (MCCP) MCA candidate Kibii Tanyagori among other several grassroots leaders from the two counties all of whom had formerly defected from their respective parties.
The move comes ahead of Nasa Pentagon schedule tours of Baringo and West Pokot counties this week.
