A new candidate has joined the race to unseat Governor Jack Ranguma in 2017.

Dr Asaka Nyangara declared his candidature on Friday at a rally in Nyakach sub county.

He becomes the fourth candidate to declare interest in the race after Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga, Senator Prof Anyang Nyong'o and London-trained medical doctor Hezron Mackobewa also announced their intention to challenge Mr Ranguma.

Through his official Twitter account, Dr Nyangara confirmed he was in the race and nothing would stop him from contesting for the post.

"I am in the gubernatorial race. Nothing has changed and nothing will change!" he said.

"I Shun the fear mongering innuendos all imagined will ululate the airwaves all meant to coalesce votes for the failed leadership."
