One more commercial sex worker died on Sunday in Nakuru after succumbing to injuries she sustained after she was attacked by an unknown man in a bar.
Reports say Grace Wanjiku Mugure was attacked by an unknown man on Saturday night at a club in Nakuru town who later disappeared.
Nakuru Sex Workers chairperson Daisy Achieng said Monday Mugure was hit on the head with a beer bottle when she got drunk.
"While she was receiving medication here, she narrated how she was hit by a man she was with using a beer bottle on the head when she got drunk leaving her unconscious," narrated Daisy at Nakuru Level Five Hospital.
Nakuru has experienced increased victimisation of commercial sex workers where the total number of deaths reported in eight months hitting 12 people according to Daisy.
"We have tried to reach to security personnel in the town to offer us protection but it has been unsuccessful making us lose many of our colleagues. It very disturbing," she said amid tears.
Last year, the sex workers held a peaceful demonstration in the town and its environs seeking recognition by the people who were slaying some if them.
In the demonstration they asked the county government to offer protection to them.
Three suspects have been arrested and the case is still pending at the Nakuru Law courts.
