A police officer was on Monday areaigned before a Kiambu court and charged with defiling a minor within a police station on Sunday morning.

The officer, according to a report by Gatundu OCS Joshua Nyasimu, is suspected to have defiled the girl, 15, who had been put behind bars in the station.

The officer is said to have removed the girl from the cells to do some cleaning when he allegedly had sexual intercourse with her.

She reported the ordeal to another officer at the OB desk on Sunday leading to the arrest of the suspect.She was rushed to Gatundu District Hospital for medical check-up and treatment, the OCS said.

Investiagtors asked for more time to conclude investigations which was granted by the court. The officer will take plea on Tuesday.

A similar incident caused a stir online after an officer reportedly defiled a minor at a police station in Murang'a.

The Murang'a case is ongoing.
