A government official who was suspended by Nandi County has committed suicide.
Tragedy struck Kabutie village after a suspended Nandi county government official on Monday committed suicide.
Shadrack Biwott, 42, from Kabutie village is said to have drank poison after he was asked to stay at home pending an audit probe.
Biwott was working at the medical engineering maintenance department of the Kapsabet Referral Hospital.
His death is the second to be reported after Governor Stephen Sang ordered audit reports in a number of departments.
Last month, David Kemboi hanged himself at his house on grounds some of his seniors forged his signature to steal money from the county.
The two come from the same village.
The deceased was among 1,000 county casual workers laid off by governor Stephen Sang in August.
Police said Biwott left a suicide note saying he was unable to carter for his family after the suspension.
