We need to work extra hard to ensure we change their lives and not hold celebrations with taxpayers’ money,” said Twaha. The Governor-elect also sent a stern warning to county officials, saying his administration will not tolerate embezzlement of funds.“I will not only send you home but also take you to court if you misuse public funds,” he added. He appealed to residents to support his administration and work together with the county government in a bid to solve the various problems facing them.“We should not allow our political boundaries to take over our zeal to serve the locals in Lamu. We should work very hard to change the county,” he said.“I am promising you development so let us get down to work,” he added.
