Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kitui Governor Julius Malombe will part ways if the nominations are not free and fair. Malombe has threatened to ditch Wiper Party if he is rigged out during the nominations.

The governor has said that he will lead other Kamba politicians to defect from Wiper and Cord to Jubilee in the event that nominations will not be undertaken in a transparent manner.

He urged Kalonzo to declare his stand as far as Wiper Party nominations are concerned. This comes after Wiper leaders claimed that they were going to use the delegates system in picking its candidates in different positions and not the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Malombe has expressed his concerns over the way the party will conduct nominations citing that some leaders are likely to influence the process.

In the past, Malombe called upon Kalonzo to ask Wiper Party Chairman, Mr Musila David to step down to ensure free and fair party nominations. His sentiments come after Musila declared to lock horns with him for the Kitui Gubernatorial seat in 2017.

Various leaders from Wiper party have also questioned the credibility of the delegates system and requested the leaders to use IEBC officials for the nominations.
