Under the leadership of MP Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir, Mvita constituency is soon going to launch an FM radio station.
The MP toured the MVITA 106.2 FM, a community radio station commissioned through the Mvita NG-CDF.
He said the radio will be independently run by the Journalism Department of The Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP).
Apart from an industrial exposure to the students, Nassir noted that the station once fully operational and having advertising revenue flow; will benefit needy Mvita students studying at the institution with academic bursaries.
"The project is at its final stages and testings underway for the 106.2FM signal. We shall soon announce a major launch date for the community radio," he said on Friday.
