Nyamache secondary school was set ablaze barely two and half hours after the CS warning that the government will not fund reconstruction of schools which have been affected by arson attacks.

The CS held a funds drive in aid of the school and was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary Belio Kipsang and TSC Chief executive Nancy Macharia.

Kisii county head teachers’ association chairman, Jairus Onchoke, said the attack at Nyamache was an embarrassment to the minister.

"Yes there is a fire at Nyamache and this is a big embarrassment. We should get to the root cause of this problem. It is a high time a serious dialogue is held among education stakeholders in the county to determine the cause of the fires," Onchoke said.

"We need to stop the public relations gimmicks and focus on getting a lasting solution to this escalating menace," added Onchoke.

The heads association has already said that politicians could have played a part in the arson attack that saw dormitories burned down at Itiero boys school.
