Former KTN anchor, Louis Otieno, is now appealing to Kenyans to help him after he went deaf while undergoing treatment.
He was undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis
.A statement from the Louis Otieno Fund Committee indicated that during one of his admissions at the hospital, Louis lost his hearing and attempts to fix it were futile.
"As you all may be aware, Louis has been unwell and in and out of the hospital, being treated for acute pancreatitis. During one of his admissions, Louis lost his hearing. Efforts to fix it have failed," the statement read.
According to the Committee, the doctors proposed that the only way to fix his hearing was through a procedure called Cochlear implant which had to be performed in India.
"After consultations with doctors, it was agreed that the only way the hearing could be fixed was by having a procedure undertaken in India called Cochlear implant," they stated.
The team is also planning a Harambee to support the former anchor's treatment.
Those interested to help were asked to send their contributions to pay bill number 333957.
