A 34-year-old man has been killed by a speeding train in Nairobi.

The man met his death as he tried to cross a railway line in Nairobi's Dagoretti area. 

Witnesses said he attempted to cross the line at the same time the commuter train was approaching, leading to him being crushed.​Police disclosed that they were called and informed of the accident after it had occurred Thursday evening. 

The body was picked and taken to the morgue.
