It is merely a fortnight to the August 8, presidential poll and President Uhuru Kenyatta is getting more endorsements from persons which were once perceived opposition bedrocks.
The Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya has pronounced their support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid.
According to the council's national chairman Mr Sheikh, Abdallah Ateka said they have unanimously agreed to push for Uhuru's re-election.
The council said the move to support Uhuru is the warm gesture the Head of State has demonstrated in recognising Muslims in the country.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will face NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga and six other candidates in what political pundits and opinion polls have said will be a closely contested affair.
