The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned key bosses at the National Lands Commission in the ongoing investigations into corruption allegations regarding land compensation for the Standard Gauge Railway.

In a letter, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission director of investigations Abdi Mohamud asked six commissioners from the commission to report to EACC's Integrity Centre  headquarters between June 2 and June 19.

“The commission is conducting an inquiry into the allocation of land and compensation of land owners affected by the Standard Gauge Railway project in Embakasi and Athi River,” Mohamud said as quoted by the Nation.

Mohamud asked NLC chairman Mohammed Swazuri to arrange with the other five commissioners so they can meet EACC officers handling the investigation.

Those to answer questions alongside Swazuri are Deputy Chair Abigael Mbagaya, Abdulkadir Adan Khalif, Emma Muthoni Njogu, Dr Rose Musyoka and Dr Tomik Konyimbih.

They will be facing the EACC just a month after agency detectives raided their homes and those of other commission staff in search of documents relating to the probe.
