Leaflets suggesting that Bondo Member of Parliament Gideon Ochanda is out to ensure Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga is not elected president were found scattered along the Bondo-Usenge highway on Tuesday morning.
Ochanda, has however, distanced himself from the development that has caused panic in the region.
The politician has faulted his political detractors of using propaganda to 'kill' his political career.
Speaking in Bondo, Ochanda said this is the second time for such leaflets to be discovered in different parts of the Siaya County.
He urged the area DCIO to take action against those involved saying the suspects are well-known.
"This is the work of cowards. If they are very sure of what they are saying, why don't they come out and tell the public?" he posed, as quoted by the Standard.
The leaflets indicated that the politician had held a meeting between a sub-clan from Sakwa and Yimbo clan at Wambasa Secondary School on Jamhuri Day in a bid ensure the former Prime Minister does not become the next president of Kenya.
Ochanda further said his enemies are out to bring him down.
"The dirty tactics employed by my enemies to smear my name and the names of other ODM MPs viewed as rebels is a threat to party unity and could affect voter turnout in the next General Election," said Ochanda.
