President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have panicked following the formation of National Super Alliance (NASA).
US-based law professor Makau Mutua says Jubilee regime is shaking in boots after opposition leaders came together to form a formidable alliance.
In an interview with The Daily Nation, the controversial scholar said President Kenyatta and DP Ruto 'have seen the writing on the wall', and that is why they are clamping down on the opposition.
"That is why Jubilee is attacking its critics and withdrawing security of governors critical to it like Hassan Joho," said Mutua.
He added: "That is why Aden Duale is planning to ethnically cleanse the Akamba community from Garissa."
Mutua said the Jubilee regime will do everything to remain in power, including rigging the forthcoming general elections.
"Jubilee is looting the public purse to buy August 8 elections. They are also suppressing leading civil society organisations like the Kenya Human Rights Commission to silence dissent voices in case they rig August polls," he said.
He, however, said Kenyans are prepared for a regime change and are ready to remove Jubilee administration from power.
"Kenyans are sick and tired of theft and corruption, insecurity, impunity and a tribalised state. They want the values of the 2010 Constitution implemented, which Jubilee has sabotaged."
