It has now emerged that President Uhuru Kenyatta snubbed an invite by governors without any explantion.
According to the Star, the President has not responded to the governors' last two invitations for induction mid cash crunch facing counties.
"Reference is made to the earlier postponed two induction meetings for governors and deputy governors which were originally planned for September 5- and pushed to October 2-6 October respectively," a letter from Council of Governors Chairman Josphat Nanok to the President states.
The Induction is used to introduce elected leaders to their new roles.
“The Council is hereby formally notifying your good office of the rescheduled dates,” Nanok in the letter dated October 5 said.
Uhuru heads the summit while DP William Ruto chairs the Inter-Governmental Budget and Economic Council.
The Summit, IBEC and the CoG harmonise activities of the county and national governments.
"The Council of Governors has, through consultations, now settled for fresh dates for the induction which are November 13-17 this year," reads the third letter to President Uhuru.
