Uasin Gishu County Administration Police Commander Augustus Mutia has said that Police will deal with highway robbers and carjackers who are allegedly wrecking havoc in the area.
Briefing the press in his office on Tuesday, the commander said that they will not give criminal space to cause havoc.
Commander Mutia said that adequate Police officers have been deployed to conduct patrols along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.
“We are going to act tough on Highway robbers and carjackers who think they can continue to terrorise motorists,” warned Commander Mutia.
He also said that the police will intensify search of every vehicle they suspect with the aim of nailing the criminals.
Commander Mutia urged motorists urged motorists and the public to cooperate with law enforcers. He said suspected criminals will be netted if the public provide information o the whereabouts.
The Commander further asked motorists to report immediately whenever such cases of hijackings are witnessed for Police to act swiftly.
