Three suspects, among them an administration police (AP) are being held over the abduction of a man.

The three are being held by the Mombasa Serious Crimes Prevention Unit.

It is believed that the man abducted, Rashid Abdhallah was kidnapped from Ijara area in Majengo Mapya by the trio.

They had called Abdallah’s parents demanding a ransom of Sh70,000 if they wanted their son back and through the call, the police were able to track the suspects’ destination.

On top of the abduction charges, the AP was found in possession of a drug which is believed to be cocaine.

Coast regional police commander Francis Wanjohi says the kidnappers are currently being questioned.

"This is a dangerous syndicate. We are keenly following the matter and trailing other suspects who escaped," Wanjohi said.
