A Kisumu County clergy official have challenged parents to instil good morals in their children.

Kisumu County Clergy Chairperson Ezekiel Apindi speak at the JCC Worship Centre called for an improved disciplinary action on infants by instilling good morals in them.

Apindi noted that some parents never disciplined their children in their growth not knowing a child nurturing depended on the up brought.

He said, “Parents need to teach children good manners like respect and proper interaction skills with the elderly. Some parents are however not disciplining their children.”

Apindi further stated that the Bible encourages parents to discipline their children, a lack of which was spoiling the children.

“Let’s make sure our children are nurtured in the way they grow. A child’s future depends on how the parent train their children,” said Apindi.

Apindi noted that some children lacked proper manners as they lacked respect for the elderly, challenging parents to act as good role models to their children.

Church morals educator Millicent Wedewo also noted that much needed to be done to the child’s growth as they required proper shaping up while they are young.

Wedewo emphasised that a child grew to be what they are nurtured to be when young.
