Mudavadi and Wamalwa during the shouting contest. nation.co.keWater Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has demanded an apology from ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi following his ejection from a cultural event in Vihiga last Tuesday.
Wamalwa who spoke in Bungoma on Monday said Mudavadi was responsible for the skirmishes that forced police to fire live bullets on air to disperse rowdy youth who were shouting him down as he sat at the main dais.
The CS made the remarks even after organizers of the Vihiga cultural festival apologized to him over the incident where he was heckled and chased away.
“I have a lot of respect for my brother Musalia,” he said.
“I don’t expect anything less of an apology or he stays away from Bungoma. He should also not expect our support in 2022 because we understand he intends to vie for the presidency.”
Wamalwa was ejected from the ceremony barely five minutes after he had arrived at the well-attended annual occasion that was being marked for the 38th time.
Mudavadi was at the time addressing the hundreds of attendees where COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli was chief guest.
Efforts by Mudavadi and Atwoli to calm down the mobs were futile as the chanting grew louder.
