The former North Mugirango MP Wilfred Moriasi Ombui has asked Cord leader Raila Odinga to stop inciting Kenyans against the IEBC.
Ombui said the recent remarks by Raila during a tour in western Kenya that Cord will only accept a decision to fire the IEBC commissioners and nothing else would stir memories of what happened in 2007-08.
Ombui instead asked the former prime minister to first put his house in order if he wants Kenyans to trust his leadership skills.
“I ask Raila to apologise over the remarks he made that he will not accept any outcome of the parliamentary committee which is handling the IEBC issue. Raila should show leadership qualities and also preach unity,” Ombui said.
“As a country we have taken many years to heal and are still healing and when someone utters such words, it re-opens wounds which had not fully recovered,” Ombui added.
“The parliamentary team is well represented by both coalitions to look into the issues of IEBC, let's all accept the decision they will come up with,“ Ombui noted.
He asked Raila to instead preach peace as the country gears up for next year's elections.
