The app, known as SkoolHub has the capability of retaining  a pupil's performance record and the events to be conducted by the school.

The main aim of the app is to bridge the communication gap that is normally witnessed between teachers and parents and the developers of the app believe this will change the education environment if all schools adopted the new system.

With the government setting to roll out the laptop project in schools, the developers of the app believe this will give the teachers and parents an easier time in reflecting on the performance of the pupils as well as ensuring parents do not miss the school functions that some pupils fail to tell parents.

The app has already been rolled out in several schools in Nairobi County with PlayStreet School on Dennis Pritt road being the most successful user of the app.

"The app is helpful as it gives information on report cards, reminders, newsletters, assigned homework, notification if a pupil falls sick among other notifications made by the school," says Warui.

The app costs Sh250 per month and this amount can be added to the normal school fees given by schools.

The developers of the app believe all schools will take the new form of communication between parents and teachers and this will help reduce the cold atmosphere always experienced between teachers and parents.
