IEBC Selection Committee on Wednesday will publish names of applicants that sent their applications by Tuesday's deadline in the Kenya Gazette, two circulation newspapers and a parliamentary service commission website.
The information will include names of the applicants and their qualifications as stipulated in their applications.
The committee received 13 applications for the chairperson`s position and over 800 for the six slots for members.
"As a result of the unprecedented numbers of applications received, the consolidation of all applications took a longer time.” Said Committee chairperson Bernadette Musundi
“Selection panel will then begin Short listing and publish the short list, Views of the public on the candidate suitability will then be undertaken in a week,” added Musundi
Selection panel will select two qualified candidates for chairperson and nine applicants for members of the commission and shall forward the names to the President
The president will then nominate one person for chairperson`s position and six people for appointment of members.
He will then forward the list of nominees to the National Assembly for approval in accordance with the Public Appointments Act.
The President shall, within seven days of receiving the names approved by the National Assembly, by notice in the Gazette, appoint the chairperson and the members in accordance to the Constitution.
