Speaking on Wednesday at Nyankongo primary during prize award ceremony, county health chief officer Douglas Bosire said many residents are judging the county government on preconceived thoughts instead of 'facing the reality on the ground'.

He said the mounting scathing attack on the county governor about recruitment of people to various offices were malicious and politically motivated since 'Governor John Nyangarama has no power to employ or dismiss employees'.

“It is always amusing that the county government is accused of giving jobs to people in line with who knows who. That is not correct and we should face the reality on the ground. Jobs are normally advertised and the most qualified people are given the opportunity to serve the residents,” he said.

“The governor has no power to employ or dismiss but the powers to execute those functions lies with the county public service board. It is therefore total malice and propaganda to cheat people about governance,” he added.

He asked residents to check the national dailies for the job adverts or rely on their elected leaders to get the information whenever opportunities arise.

“I would like to ask my fellow residents to always check in the newspapers about the job adverts or in our official website. I know it isn’t my work to talk about this but it’s important. You can also work closely with elected leaders to get information,” he said.
