Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i now wants National Youth Polytechnic students to apply for loans.

Matiangi further says the move will help offload burden on students from needy backgrounds.

"National Youth polytechnic should now get ready to apply for laons. The government wants to ensure students get uninterrpted quality education," he said.

"We have set aside Sh900m for the coming financial year and this is going to be massive. We want parents to be ofloadded," he added.

He was speaking at Egesa FM on Tuesday and also expressed his disappointment on the rate at which youths apply for loans.
