Addressing journalists in his office on Monday, Mbugua said that the county government has put in place mechanisms that will ensure that disabled persons are granted government tenders.

The Governor noted that it is a government directive that 30 per cent of all tenders be given to disabled persons, women and youths.

“I would wish to encourage disabled persons to apply for county tenders,” said Mbugua.

Mbugua added that his government is open to everyone and that no one will be locked out of development.

He also said that his government has put in place policies to ensure disabled persons are engaged in development.

“We are clear on the rights and welfare of Persons With Disability and we have made sure that they are represented in county development committees,” said Mbugua.

On the same note, Mbugua said that the county government will increase the money set aside to PWD.

He said that increasing the fund will give them an opportunity to progress in life and contribute towards development.
