[Photo|Governor Nyong'o CU]Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o has encouraged residents especially the youth to apply for the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP) project.The KYEP is a Sh15 billion project financed by World Bank and the Government of Kenya for the next 4 years.It targets youth of between 18-29 years of form 4 level and below. A total of 70,000 youth are expected to be trained in technical skills through NITA and 280,000 youth to be trained on entrepreneurship skills through the county's Youth Department."The youth will be paid a stipend of Sh6,000 per month and training is free. Encourage youth you may know to apply," read a communication from the County government on Saturday. This is phase 2 of KYEP which registered success where 80% of the youth trained got job placements."A few forms about 20 per location and copy of advert have been availed to chiefs to assist those who may not have the opportunity to make an online application. Deadline for application will be on 10th January 2018."
